SENECA FALLS — Marilyn J. Barner, 90, passed away Wednesday (February 21, 2024) at Geneva General Hospital with her loving family by her side. In keeping with Marilyn's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. Marilyn was born October 10, 1933 in Phelps, NY, the daughter of Elkannah and Ethel Young. After high school, she worked at the Greenwood's Foods in Waterloo, NY. Marilyn worked as an Assembler for Guaranteed Parts in Seneca Falls, NY, until her retirement. She married the love of her life, Frank Barner in 1957. Together they raised their six children and granddaughter, Angel. From hosting Sunday dinner every single week, to the joy she had when spending time with her grandchildren, Marilyn's deep love for her family was clearly evident in her life. She also enjoyed baking, a passion that she passed on to many in her family. Her meals and presence will be deeply missed by all. Marilyn is survived by sons Richard (Stephanie Kidman) A. Barner of Waterloo, NY and Frank E. Barner, III of Seneca Falls, NY; daughters Gloria (Jim) Foreman of Elm City, NC, Marilyn Hartzell of Waterloo, NY, and Karen McGhee of Mumford, TN; granddaughter Angel (Denny) Landis of Romulus, NY; siblings Irving (Shirley) Young of Port Gibson, NY, Ethel "Petey" Grahm of Palmyra, NY, and Alkannah (Cathy) Young of Phelps, NY; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her parents; son William Barner; grandson Jeffrey Scott Hagen; great-grandson Trenton Bahmann; great-great-grandson Oakley Barner; and 8 siblings.
